Sovereign Harbour
During 2020 I was trying to learn as much about 3D Modelling and animation as I could. At the time I was living in the Sovereign Harbour area in Eastbourne and decided to model some of the area and test out creating different scenes and animations.
The scenes and majority of the models that feature in the following videos were all modelled in Sketchup and then exported to different animation software.
The first video is a short animation made using Blender. The idea behind it was to eventually create a kind of opening credits for an animated TV show. This was the final draft I ever created which did not even feature any characters or human models but displays what I learnt about moving different objects within the scene and how to move the camera around during the animation to follow moving objects or focus on certain areas of the scene.
The second video shows the flat I was living in more complete with furniture models. This animation was created using SimLab. For this one I imported the scene I created in Sketchup and SimLab allowed me to assign different animations to different objects. This meant I could click on doors to open them and walk around the space as if I was in video game. This demo also worked in VR.
